McAlpine Graduates from Cannon Financial Institute as Honor Graduate
David McAlpine, Account Specialist with Peoples Bank Wealth Management Group in Sioux Center, IA, recently attended Cannon Trust School III offered by Cannon Financial Institute. CFI’s School is a three-year school, consisting of 38 hours of classroom instruction each year. Diplomas are awarded upon completion of the entire sequence.
McAlpine successfully completed Cannon Trust School III with the Honor Graduate designation, Cannon’s highest academic distinction. This award is given to those students who complete each level of the course with a 90% or higher on each of the comprehensive exams given at the conclusion of each class.
“David’s achievements throughout the program of study with Cannon signify a tremendous amount of hard work,” said Cannon Financial Institute President M. Shane O’Neill.
“This honor is evidence of David’s ongoing commitment to personal and professional excellence, as well as a desire to remain on the leading edge of the financial services industry,” O’Neill continued. “David is one of only a few students to earn this level of academic achievement in our schools this year.”
In addition to completing Cannon Trust School III, McAlpine has been awarded the Certified Trust & Financial Advisor (CTFA) professional certification from the American Bankers Association.
“Earning the CTFA certification validates David’s experience and depth of education in the wealth management industry,” said Peoples Bank CEO Al Vermeer.
The CTFA certification is awarded to individuals who demonstrate excellence in the field of wealth management and trust. To qualify for the CTFA certification, individuals must have certain levels of experience and education in the trust profession, pass an exam, and agree to abide by a code of ethics. The CTFA exam covers many areas including fiduciary and trust activities, financial planning, tax law and planning, investment management and ethics.
