Grant Guidelines
- Non-profit entities - with the exceptions for private schools, churches, and private membership organizations - based out of or having projects impacting Lyon, Sioux, or O’Brien counties are eligible to apply. Requests outside this area will not be considered.
- Special consideration given to projects that provide for or benefit one of the following: underserved populations, healthcare services, or local facilities providing enjoyment to the general public.
- All grant requests need to be submitted by August 30th each year and grant awards are announced in October of each year.
- Any projects where recognition opportunities are available should indicate such on the application; however, naming recognition is not a requirement for a grant being awarded. Any name recognition should be done in the name of Dorothy E. McCormack Charitable Trust.
- Any pledging opportunities should indicate such on the application.
About Dorothy
Dorothy E. McCormack was a philanthropist from Rock Rapids, Iowa. She was born in 1927, and until her death in 2018, Dorothy supported a number of local, national, and international charitable endeavors. Dorothy cared very deeply about the area and those in need around the world. Dorothy was always willing to support a worthy cause and made charitable giving a part of her life’s work.
The Foundation
Following her passing, the Dorothy E. McCormack Charitable Trust was established to ensure Dorothy’s legacy of impactful giving would continue. Each year the foundation supports various charitable projects that are making an impact in Lyon, Sioux, and O’Brien counties. On behalf of Dorothy E.
