As part of its ongoing commitment to enrich local communities, Peoples Bank in Akron is proud to announce a $35,000 pledge to the Akron Park Board Trail Committee in support of the community’s walking and biking trail project.
The donation will be distributed in phases, with $15,000 presented this year, and an additional $10,000 scheduled for 2026 & 2027.
The project, led by the Akron Park Board Trail Committee, aims to pave approximately 6.5 miles of trail through and around the town, offering safe and accessible recreational opportunities for residents of Akron and surrounding rural areas. A recent community survey identified a paved trail system as one of the top five priorities for local residents.
This multi-year pledge reflects Peoples Bank’s dedication to supporting community-based projects. The trail will be completed in phases as funding allows. The Akron Park Board Trail Committee is now working to build a broad base of business and community support to help bring this vision to life.
For more information on how to support the trail project, please contact the Akron Park Board Trail Committee.
