Peoples Bank is pleased to have been a service to many customers in Northwest Iowa and Southwest Minnesota for many years. The first branch office of Peoples Bank was organized in Lester in 1945 and was then known as Lester State Bank. Several new developments came in 1977 when the Rock Valley branch was opened, Trust operations began, and the name was changed to Peoples Bank and Trust. We grew again when Peoples Bank and Trust purchased United Federal of Rock Valley and Sioux Center. This gave us four branch locations: one in Lester, two in Rock Valley, and one in Sioux Center. In 1997 Rock Valley closed the downtown branch, keeping the remaining Rock Valley branch open. We underwent another name change in 1999 by simplifying our name to Peoples Bank. In addition to changing our name in 1999, Peoples Bank opened a branch in Akron bringing our number of branches once again to four. Our expansion continued in September of 2005 when we opened a new branch office in Sheldon. Six months later, we purchased what was then know as Jasper State Bank in Jasper, Minnesota. This brought the total number of branch offices to six.
Peoples Bank has grown and undergone changes in the past to become the bank we are today. In the future, we hope to continue to grow and therefore be able to better serve the communities in which we work and live.
